‘Jargon-busting’

Psychotherapy - Is a process which occurs as the result of the interaction between a therapist and patient. It is a joint endeavour, a partnership, aimed at dispelling distress arising through disorders of emotion, thinking, and behaviour.

Neuro-linguistic programming - NLP helps to create changes in the way you see and treat yourself. It teaches you to understand and change your assessment of yourself. You can then take control of the links between your mind and your body. This makes it easy for you to set well formed goals and outcomes that you will achieve

Rogerian Therapy
- Is based on an holistic approach to the way we see ourselves. It is grounded on the firm belief that there is an underlying core of good in everyone. When this goodness is recognised through therapy, it results in wholeness and health for the individual and opens up possibilities for a fulfilling, satisfying life.

Psycho-regression
- Is a way of taking you back to times and events in your early life (and some would claim, previous lives) in order to find and neutralise the root causes of past traumas which create problems in the present. This is achieved through hypnosis. (see below)

Hypnotherapy - Is the natural state of hypnosis used to help to resolve a problem which is causing difficulties in your life.
Hypnosis is a natural state, which we have all experienced.
It’s that lovely state we find ourselves in just before we go to sleep or as we are waking up; or when we become lost in music, or entranced in a book or film.
It has been described as an altered state of awareness.
It is not sleep or unconsciousness or losing control, it’s a natural state of deep relaxation and a way of identifying and focusing on a particular problem.
It uses your own mental resources to help to resolve your problems.

Hypnotherapy does not use drugs and is complementary to orthodox medicine, not an alternative to it. It looks at the mind and body as a whole.
Hypnotherapy can help with many problems of the mind and body.
